Shooting Drills for Deadly Accuracy

Shooting isn't just about power—it’s about precision and technique. Begin your shooting practice with stationary targets, such as small cones or markers placed in the corners of the goal. Start close to the net, about 10 meters away, and focus on hitting these targets consistently. Use the instep of your foot for power and aim to strike the ball cleanly in the center for a straight trajectory.

As your accuracy improves, increase the distance and add movement to your drills. Practice receiving a pass before shooting or dribbling around a defender before taking your shot. For goalkeepers, simulate match scenarios where you have only seconds to decide your angle and strike. Include varied ball positions—ground, bouncing, or coming in from a cross—to develop adaptability.

Lastly, work on finishing under pressure by practicing with teammates. Set up scenarios where defenders close in quickly, forcing you to shoot with limited time and space. The repetition of these drills builds muscle memory and confidence, making you a lethal finisher during matches.
